Grubs In The Lawn

White Grubs are the most destructive lawn insect!

Grubs feed on the grass roots; damage is identified as dead grass that can be lifted like a piece of carpet. Grub damage is usually first noticed in mid to late August; damage will first occur in the sunniest, driest locations of the lawn.

The best time to control grubs in the lawn is when the larvae are small and actively feeding near the surface. This is usually early to mid August. A second application in September may be required to control late hatching larvae.

It is important to follow all of the steps to achieve good control.

  1. Remove as much of the thatch as possible with a heavy raking.
  2. Pre-soak the lawn with water. Ensure that the soil is wet down to the grass root zone
  3. Apply GrubOutŪ, following the label directions for application rates, coverage and water instructions.
  4. Keep children and pets off the lawn while spraying, and until the grass has thoroughly dried.
